Wanda Brooks was an integral part of the military community for over three decades through her marriage to USAREC CSM (R) Thomas Brooks. Her insights and experiences as a military spouse enrich her role on the Executive Board of the Association of US Army Recruiting, where she holds the positions of Secretary and Treasurer.
In her professional journey, Wanda’s commitment as a Registered Nurse has seen her work alongside some of the nation’s most esteemed medical professionals. Her extensive career includes roles at notable institutions like Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, Mt Sinai in New York City, Simmons Cancer Center in Dallas, the University of California in San Francisco, and the Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Augusta. She reached the pinnacle of her career at Hampton Roads Orthopedics, serving as Clinical Director, where she supervised the medical and surgical treatment of over 1k+ patients on a weekly basis.
As a public speaker, Wanda is recognized for her engaging presentations, captivating audiences with her insights on health, wellness, and the importance of active participation in community and governmental affairs to lead a meaningful life.
Currently, Wanda is actively involved in a variety of civic, political, and religious roles. Her commitment to giving back is further exemplified by her philanthropic efforts as a Board Member of the Gertrude McCarty Smith Foundation for The Arts.
