CSM (R) Laick entered the Army Reserve on 1 September 1989. He served as a Single Channel Radio Operator and as an Artilleryman until the spring of 1993. CSM (R) Laick entered Active duty as a Turret Mechanic in March of 1993 and ended his career with over 22 years in recruiting on 31 December 2021. He served in every leadership position in the Army ending as the Marketing and Engagement Brigade Command Sergeant Major. He served at over 19 different locations in his Army Career with numerous awards ending honorably with a Legion of Merit. He serves as the President of the local Fort Knox AUSA Chapter and the Communications Chair for AUSAR. He owns a marketing firm and publishes The Messenger KY for Meade County, Fort Knox, and Radcliff KY.
