Command Sergeant Major (R) Jessica LaPointe-Menold is a native of Lodi, California. The 1988 Lodi High School graduate enlisted in the U.S. Army in September 1990 as a medical laboratory specialist with a specialty in microbiology. She attended basic training at Fort Dix, N.J., and advanced individual training at Fort Sam Houston, Texas.
Jessica’s first assignment as a detailed recruiter was in the Baltimore Recruiting Battalion, 1stRecruiting Brigade in 2005. Following her time as a detailed recruiting NCO, Jessica served as a Station Commander, Guidance Counselor, Trainer, Battalion Operations NCOIC, First Sergeant, 1st Brigade Operations SGM, Richmond Battalion Command Sergeant Major, and USAREC G3 SGM. She served in units from the 1st Recruiting Brigade, 3rd Recruiting Brigade, the Medical Recruiting Brigade, and at the Recruiting HQ.
Jessica is a graduate of the U.S. Army Sergeants Major Academy (Class 66) and earned her Master of Science Degree in Organizational Leadership. She is currently pursuing an EdD in Education from Liberty University. Jessica is proud to be a member of the prestigious Sergeant Audie Murphy Club, as well as earning the Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, the Recruiter Ring, the Glen E. Morrell Ring and Medallion, and the Recruiting Excellence Medallion.
Jessica is married to a Philadelphia native, Mr. Michael Menold. They have the most amazing and beautiful 13-year-old daughter, McKenna, and a very fluffy dog named Bailey. Upon retirement from Fort Knox as the USAREC G3 SGM in May 2023, Jessica and family decided to stay in Kentucky until McKenna finished middle school. Jessica currently works at Humana and teaches as an Adjunct Professor for Southern New Hampshire University.
